Update on USA Tariffs

24 August 2026

According to the USA Government website, original art works and prints have not been affected by the recent tariffs changes between the

USA and Canada.

The import of prints from Canada into the US remain duty free at 0%

It is of great concern to watch the unfolding of the economic tensions between the USA and its historically strong trading partners including Canada and many other countries.

Amongst all the constant changes to the tariffs for goods and industries between the USA and Canada, the import of Original Art Works has remained unchanged.

These imports are zero rated for duties and no duty should be applied.

If you are using an import agent, please ensure they are up to date with the tariffs so that the correct duty is applied and that the correct HTS code is used when importing.

The correct HTS code for the export of fine art prints is

HTS Code 9702 - original engravings, prints and lithographs.

Be sure to include the following documentation in your shipment. Click to download.

Original Art Declaration

Certificate of Origin - CUSMA

For reference please visit the USA Government website which provides updated information on HTS Codes.

Feel free to reach out to us with any concerns or advice.
